UIN Jakarta Welcomes Australian ICT Expert for Academic Enrichment
Rectorate Building, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has taken a significant step in advancing its academic excellence by hosting Dr. Ritesh Chugh, an Associate Professor in Information and Communication Technology from Central Queensland University (CQU), Australia. As part of the International Adjunct Professor Program (October 2024–October 2025), Dr. Chugh’s visit underscores UIN Jakarta’s commitment to enhancing global partnerships and academic innovation.
Dr. Chugh, who is recognized among the Top 2% of the World’s Scientists by Stanford/Elsevier 2024, spent November 9–16, 2024, conducting a range of academic activities facilitated by the International Cooperation Services Center of LP2M UIN Jakarta. These activities included workshops, mentoring sessions, and a scientific writing clinic aimed at equipping students and faculty with essential research and academic skills.
During his sessions, Dr. Chugh delved into topics such as effective literature review creation, the research publication process, and fostering productive student-supervisor relationships. His guest lecture on building a robust digital academic profile and strategies for increasing global visibility further empowered participants to engage with the international academic community.
The Scientific Writing Clinic, a standout event of Dr. Chugh’s visit, opened by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, was particularly well-received. The clinic introduced participants to the application of generative AI in academic writing, supporting UIN Jakarta’s broader goals of digital transformation and academic innovation.
Reflecting on his visit, Dr. Chugh shared, “Collaborating with UIN Jakarta has been a deeply rewarding experience. This partnership is not just about immediate outcomes but also about building a foundation for long-term academic excellence and innovation.”
