UIN Jakarta Hosts 2026 National Youth Cooperative Jamboree to Drive Campus Entrepreneurship
JAKARTA, UIN Online News – Championing youth entrepreneurship and solidarity-based economics, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially inaugurated the 2026 National Student Cooperative Jamboree (Jamkopnas) at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Centered on the theme "Seeds of Change: Youth Cooperative Cultivating Culture, Nature, and Community for a Sustainable Future," the three-day summit convened 135 student leaders across 35 regional delegations from across Indonesia.
The national opening ceremony brought together UIN Jakarta Vice Rector for Student Affairs Professor Ali Munhanif, Ph.D., Executive Chair of the Indonesian Cooperative Council (DEKOPIN) Ir. Priskhianto, M.B.A., alongside Special Staff to the Minister of Cooperatives David Bastian.
Addressing the national assembly, DEKOPIN Executive Chair Ir. Priskhianto emphasized that student-led cooperatives (KOPMA) represent the constitutional foundation of Indonesia's economic democracy as outlined in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.
He urged university leaders to help student cooperatives evolve beyond basic campus retail into strategic engines for regional economic development.
"Government policy is heavily prioritizing cooperative development," Priskhianto highlighted. "Student cooperatives must position themselves as strategic campus business incubators, commercial unit managers, entrepreneurship laboratories, and primary bridges connecting academic talent with industry."
Echoing this vision, Vice Rector Professor Ali Munhanif noted that Jamkopnas 2026 serves as a key momentum to align youth action with national economic priorities, reigniting cooperative values through sustainable business practices.
Running from August 4 to August 6, 2026, the national jamboree combines rigorous academic challenges with experiential learning across UIN Jakarta venues and field locations in Bogor.
Organized by Student Committee Chair Mei Shelly Alivia, the competition tracks challenge participants across four core areas:

Business Plan Pitching: Developing scalable, eco-conscious venture models for modern markets.

National Economic Debates & Essays: Formulating strategic policy ideas to modernize cooperative governance.

Youth Ambassador Selection (Abang None Kopma): Appointing articulate Gen-Z spokespersons to advocate for youth entrepreneurship.
By elevating campus cooperatives into dynamic business incubators and policy platforms, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta demonstrates how youth-led solidarity economics can actively power Indonesia's sustainable economic future.
