In his inaugural address, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar expressed deep appreciation for the graduates’ perseverance in navigating various challenges throughout their studies. He emphasized that true success in the digital era is not solely determined by a high GPA but by adaptability and meaningful contribution to society.

Quoting Albert Einstein, the Rector reminded graduates not merely to pursue status-based success, but to strive to become individuals of value.

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value. Do not only aim to achieve titles or positions. Life is measured by value—how meaningful you are and how much benefit and goodness you bring to others,” he stressed.

Beyond delivering moral guidance, the Rector also led a humanitarian solidarity action during the graduation ceremony. He invited graduates and attendees to donate through the UIN Jakarta Social Trust Fund (STF) to support students in need of educational assistance.

The call was warmly received, and within a short time, spontaneous philanthropic donations totaling more than IDR 10 million were collected, reflecting the strong social concern of the UIN Jakarta academic community.

Representing alumni, Dr. Abd. Muid Nawawi, M.A.—a lecturer at the College of Qur’anic Studies (PTIQ) Jakarta and founder of ibihtafsir.id—shared his nostalgic journey as a UIN Jakarta alumnus from undergraduate to doctoral levels. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of maintaining closeness with scholars and teachers as a source of blessing in knowledge. He also recounted his experience serving Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, which led to unexpected opportunities, including delivering sermons at the State Palace.

“Graduation is certainly important. However, as the Rector has said, what matters more is becoming a person who benefits others. May today mark the beginning of our journey to become truly useful human beings,” he said.

Meanwhile, the graduate representative, Rafi Sofyan Tsauri from the Hadith Studies Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin, expressed gratitude to parents and lecturers. In his inspiring address, he quoted Indonesian writer Pramoedya Ananta Toer to remind graduates of their moral responsibility.

“A learned person must act justly, first in thought, and even more so in action. We ask for prayers and blessings so that our future steps may bring pride and blessings to our families, society, nation, and religion,” he concluded.

The first day of the graduation ceremony proceeded smoothly. The second day will continue on Sunday (February 8, 2026), for the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK), Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH), Faculty of Psychology (FPSI), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), and Faculty of Science and Technology (FST).
