UIN Jakarta Earns Top Recognition for Zakat and Community Empowerment from BAZNAS

Jakarta, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has once again marked a proud achievement by receiving the Best Partner Campus Award at the 2025 BAZNAS Awards. The recognition was officially presented on Thursday (August 28, 2025) in Jakarta during the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of BAZNAS 2025.

The award was personally handed over by Prof. Dr. K.H. Noor Achmad, M.A., Chairman of BAZNAS RI, as an acknowledgment of UIN Jakarta’s active contribution in supporting programs of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZIS), including initiatives for community empowerment and the improvement of student welfare.

BAZNAS emphasized the critical role of higher education institutions in cultivating zakat literacy among younger generations while fostering a sustainable Islamic philanthropic movement in higher education.

“This award is not merely a form of recognition but also an invitation to strengthen our collaboration. BAZNAS cannot work alone; we need committed partners to reinforce the national zakat movement, including from the academic sector,” he stated.

Alongside UIN Jakarta, several other institutions and notable figures also received awards at this event, including regional governments, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and media outlets recognized for their significant contributions in supporting zakat programs and the empowerment of mustahik (eligible zakat recipients).

This achievement is not the first for UIN Jakarta. Previously, the university has been honored with similar awards from BAZNAS for its consistency and innovation in developing zakat-based social programs. Through strategic collaboration with BAZNAS, UIN Jakarta has initiated various programs, ranging from educational scholarships for underprivileged students and support for productive economic initiatives to social outreach and da’wah activities benefiting broader communities.

With this recognition, UIN Jakarta reaffirms its position as a university that not only prioritizes academic excellence but also upholds a strong commitment to social responsibility. Its collaboration with BAZNAS serves as tangible evidence of the university’s dedication to embodying the values of Islam through the trustworthy, transparent, and impactful management of zakat for the benefit of society.
