The Rector of UIN Jakarta is the Only PTKIN Leaders Panelist in the Final Presidential Candidate Debate
Jakarta, Berita UIN Online - The Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph, D, was selected to be one of the panelists in the final presidential debate by the General Election Commission (KPU) with the theme "Education, Health, Employment, Culture, Information Technology, Social Welfare and Inclusion” which was held on Sunday (4/02/2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
The election of Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph, D as a panelist in the last Presidential Candidate debate was a matter of pride for UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta because he was the only leader from a State Islamic University who had the opportunity to be part of formulating questions for the Presidential Candidates, along with 11 other panelists.
The final debate for the 2024 presidential candidates which was held last night was carried out calmly, the presidential candidates did not attack each other. Before starting to answer questions that had been designed by the panelists, each presidential candidate conveyed his vision and mission. Presidential candidate number 01 conveyed the vision and mission regarding change, collaborative government in solving problems, focusing on improving Human Resources (HR), and paying attention to data before implementing a policy.
Meanwhile, Presidential Candidate number 02 emphasized the role of the state which must intervene in problems, so that it must act quickly in resolving every problem. Then presidential candidate number 03 prioritizes collaborative government steps to find solutions by involving every stakeholder involved.
Ahead of the democratic party which will take place on Wednesday 14 February. Elections are the peak moment of voting to elect the President, Vice President, members of the People's Representative Council (DPR), members of the district Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), and members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD).
Indonesian people who can celebrate the democratic party must comply with the provisions stipulated in PKPU Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Compilation of Voter Lists in Elections and Voter Data Information Systems.
The following conditions must be met in order to participate in the 2024 elections:
- Be 17 years of age or older on voting day.
- Not having their right to vote revoked based on a court decision that has permanent legal force.
- Domicile in the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is proven by an e-KTP (e-KTP). Domiciled abroad as proven by e-KTP (e-KTP), Passport and/or Travel Document Like a Passport.
- Voters who don't have an e-KTP (e-KTP) can use a Family Card (KK).
- Not currently a soldier in the Indonesian National Army (TNI) or a member of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph, D himself is the Chancellor of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta for the 2023-2027 period. He received his education in his homeland, SDN 1 Menes Pandeglang. Then continued his education at the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School, Ponorogo, East Java. Then he studied Bachelor's degree at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Jakarta majoring in Comparison of Schools at the Faculty of Sharia (1995)
After earning a bachelor's degree, he continued studying for a master's degree at McGill University, Montreal, Canada in the field of Islamic Studies in Islamic Law (1999). Not stopping studying at master's level, in 2005 he succeeded in obtaining a Doctorate degree at Leipzig University, Germany in the field of Arabic Language and Philology.
