Successfully Held at UIN Jakarta, National Gathering of MAPK Alumni Appreciated
Bachtiar Effendi Auditorium, UIN Online News – The second National Gathering (Silaturahmi Nasional - Silatnas) of Madrasah Aliyah Program Khusus (MAPK) alumni from across Indonesia, themed "38 Years of MAPK Serving and Making an Impact," officially concluded on Thursday (June 26, 2025). The closing event was marked by the reading of the Jakarta Declaration by representatives from each regional MAPK, containing various policy recommendations for strengthening madrasah educational institutions, promoting Islamic diplomacy worldwide, and bolstering the role of religion in addressing environmental problems.
The organization of the Silatnas itself garnered appreciation from many parties. Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Dzuriyatun Toyibah M.Si., M.A., expressed gratitude that the Silatnas Alumni MAPK nationwide, held as part of FISIP's Dies Natalis, proceeded smoothly with direct support from the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., UIN Jakarta Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., and several public figures who are MAPK alumni themselves.
“We extend our gratitude to the Minister of Religious Affairs, Prof. Nasaruddin Umar, for his willingness to attend and provide support for this Silatnas. Also to the Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar,” she stated.
In addition to the Minister of Religious Affairs and UIN Jakarta Rector, Professor Dzuriyatun revealed that the Silatnas was attended by several public figures who are MAPK alumni. Some of them include Mochammad Afifudin, Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU RI); Prof. Dr. H Masnun Tahir, M.Ag., Rector of UIN Mataram and Chairman of the PTKIN Rectors Forum; Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, Vice Rector of UIN Jakarta; and others.
The presence of many public figures who are MAPK alumni, she explained, affirmed support for the Silatnas. Moreover, their presence in various entrusted public positions proves the contributions of MAPK alumni in strategic roles across the country.
“I think many parts of MAPK have colored the life of this nation, including figures, diplomats, public officials, occupants of strategic positions both nationally and internationally, and professors both at home and abroad. On this occasion, everyone gathered to renew ties and also strengthen all aspects of this nation's journey,” she added.
Positive responses to the successful organization of the MAPK Silatnas were also conveyed by Professor Masnun. “We express our gratitude for this event. And also for the attention from the Minister of Religious Affairs, who attended despite his busy schedule. Many MAPK alumni figures were also present. Alhamdulillah,” he said.
The Rector of UIN Mataram, who completed his secondary education at MAPK Mataram, appreciated that this Silatnas included discussions on various topics, both local, national, and international. “This means that MAPK graduates care about the development of the nation and the world,” he praised.
It is known that the II Indonesian MAPK Silatnas was held at FISIP UIN Jakarta. During the two-day event, MAPK alumni participated in various discussion sessions and idea-sharing. Several themes were discussed, such as the development of MAPK as a model excellent madrasah, strengthening national education, empowering the ummah's economy, alumni contributions and Islamic diplomacy, digitalization of da'wah (Islamic propagation), and strengthening the role of religion in environmental crises.
The brainstorming activities were encapsulated in the alumni's statement of stance in the form of the Jakarta Declaration. The declaration, read by several MAPK alumni representatives, contains policy recommendations directly submitted to the representative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Anis Masykhur M.A., Head of the Sub-directorate for Vocational and Inclusive Education, Directorate of Curriculum, Facilities, Institutions, and Madrasah Student Affairs, Directorate General of Islamic Education.
