This international program brought together 77 students from various State Universities (PTN) and State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN), representing seven countries: Turkey, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Gambia, Afghanistan, and Indonesia. The program also runs from November 3 to 14, 2025, marking the second edition of the International Summer Class, following its inaugural event in Surakarta in 2024.

The event was attended by UIN Jakarta Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.; Mayor of South Tangerang H. Dr. Irina Safitri Zen; Associate Professor at the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII), Dr. Taridi Kasbi Ridho, M.B.A.; as well as UIN Jakarta’s academic community and student participants from various national and international universities.

In his opening remarks, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar expressed appreciation for the program’s successful implementation.

“Considering the economic and business potential, I encourage the organizers to start preparing early and invite more ASEAN countries to join, such as Malaysia and Brunei. With proper planning, next year’s program can run even better and engage participants from more nations,” he stated.

South Tangerang Mayor H. Benyamin Davnie, who also delivered a presentation on local economic potential and development policy, highlighted the importance of synergy between local government, academia, and business actors in strengthening the foundation of the regional digital economy.

“We have renovated more than 2,200 uninhabitable homes in South Tangerang. Additionally, we continue to support creative economy players through financial aid, equipment assistance, machinery, and digital marketing support,” he explained.

As the keynote speaker on Green and Sustainable Digital Business, Prof. Ts. Dr. Irina Safitri Zen from IIUM pointed out the importance of cross-country collaboration in promoting green economy and sustainable digital marketing.

“Green economy is not only about profit but also about improving human well-being and reducing environmental risks,” she conveyed.

She elaborated that the green economy represents a global approach to balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability and social welfare. The digital era, she added, offers vast opportunities for young generations to engage in green entrepreneurship through innovation and eco-friendly marketing strategies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Taridi Kasbi Ridho, M.B.A., from UIII, noted that the world is currently undergoing rapid transformation in two major areas, digitalization and sustainability, both of which are shaping the future direction of the global economy.

The world is rapidly changing, particularly in the areas of digitalization and sustainability. By understanding both concepts, we can minimize risks and maximize opportunities in the future,” he said.
