Rector of UIN Jakarta Delivers Message of Peace for All Academic Community

Ciputat, UIN Online News — Responding to recent developments in social, political, and security dynamics over the past few days, the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., called upon the entire academic community of UIN Jakarta and the broader society to strengthen national unity in safeguarding the nation from any form of threat.

The Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of upholding order and security to ensure peace in his statement delivered at the Rectorate Building on Sunday (August 31, 2025).

“Let's uphold public order and security together. Express your aspirations peacefully, in accordance with the prevailing regulations, so that harmony can be maintained,” he said.

To the students and members of the public who are voicing their aspirations, the Rector advised them to refrain from anarchic actions and to remain focused on the noble goal of advocating for public interests.

“Along with this, let us take care of and protect public facilities and respect minority groups as an essential part of national life,” he added.

The Rector also reminded representatives of the people and public officials to uphold their trust with wisdom and to use words that bring calm. “Let us build this nation with the spirit of unity and tolerance,” he affirmed.

To law enforcement officers, the military (TNI), and the police (Polri), the Rector conveyed a message to work hand in hand with the public in maintaining security. “This is crucial to prevent our nation from descending into any form of anarchy that harms both society and the state,” he said.

In his closing statement, the Rector called upon all elements of the nation to unite in safeguarding peace and the nation’s future.

“Let us take collective steps to keep this nation peaceful, harmonious, and progressing forward. Remember, this country belongs to all of us; it is our shared responsibility to nurture, protect, and pass it on in the best possible state to future generations,” he concluded.
