Prestigious Opportunity for UIN Jakarta Students, BAZNAS Launches Cendekia Scholarship 2025

Jakarta, UIN Online News - The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) officially launched the 2025 BAZNAS Cendekia Scholarship (BCB) Program in collaboration with 183 partner universities across Indonesia and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta being one of the key partners. The event was attended by each university officials and BAZNAS Cendekia Scholarship recipients at the Ministry of Education and Culture Building A on Monday (August 4, 2025).

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, M.A.; Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd.; and Head of Distribution and Utilization at BAZNAS RI, Hj. Saidah Sakwan, M.A.

In his address, Prof. KH. Noor Achmad highlighted BAZNAS’s strong dedication to zakat collection as a service to the community, particularly the poor, and expressed hope that society truly feels the impact of the agency’s presence in Indonesia.

“Out of the 15,000 students we have provided, 95% of them have successfully graduated from top universities,” he stated.

Deputy Minister, Prof. Dr. Fauzan expressed half support for the development of the BAZNAS Cendekia Scholarship Program.

“We hope that over the years, the number of recipients does not continue to rise, as this could indicate an increasing level of financial hardship. Instead, we hope the numbers decrease as the primary criterion of this program is based on intellectual capability of the recipients,” he explained.

The event also featured three audiences who are picked from the 30,600 program participants as a form of appreciation for the exemplary management and governance of zakat distribution.

Additionally, Hj. Saidah Sakwan, Head of Distribution and Utilization at BAZNAS RI, concluded the ceremony by outlining the goals, vision, and mission of the program while presenting an informational report on BAZNAS’s partnership with the 183 participating universities.

As one of the program’s partners, UIN Jakarta continues to support the development of the BAZNAS Cendekia Scholarship, reinforcing its role as a strong Islamic university with profound academic excellence.
