Profile

Associate Professor Dr. Nurkhamimi Zainuddin is a distinguished academic at the Faculty of Major Language Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), with recognized expertise in Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) and the teaching of Arabic as a second/foreign language.

He earned his PhD from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and is widely regarded as an educational innovator. A former Dean, he is known for introducing the concept of the Foreign Language Open Online Course (FLOOC) and for his active role in advancing flexible learning models, digital pedagogy, and gamification in language education.

In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Nurkhamimi serves as an editor for international academic journals, including the International Journal of Language Education and Applied Linguistics (IJLEAL). She is also actively engaged in international academic collaborations, having served as a visiting lecturer at several universities in Indonesia, and has received multiple academic awards in recognition of his contributions to the integration of educational technology in language learning.

In 2025, Dr. Nurkhamimi serves as a Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. In this capacity, he engages in academic and research collaboration with Dr. Azkia Muharom Albantani, M.Pd.I., a faculty member of FITK UIN Jakarta. This collaboration is expected to strengthen UIN Jakarta’s international academic networks while advancing the integration of globally benchmarked scholarship and research.
