Profile
Professor Ts. Dr. Muhammad Sabri bin Sahrir is a Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy, Faculty of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He holds academic qualifications in Arabic Language and Instructional Technology Education, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). He is also professionally recognized as a Professional Technologist (Ts) by the Malaysia Board of Technologists and as a Certified Trainer by HRDF Malaysia.
His academic career began in 1999, during which he has held numerous key leadership positions at IIUM, including Head of Department and Deputy Dean across several faculties. His areas of expertise encompass Instructional Technology, Arabic Language Teaching, and Design and Development Research (DDR). In addition, he is highly experienced as an academic auditor, particularly through his involvement with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) as a Panel Member for Language Program Standards since 2018. In this capacity, he has contributed to the monitoring and evaluation of academic programs to ensure quality assurance and compliance with national standards, highlighting his expertise in language education standardization and academic quality assessment.
In 2025, Professor Sabri serves as a Professor Fellow at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. In this appointment, he engages in academic and research collaboration with Dr. Azkia Muharom Albantani, M.Pd.I., a faculty member of FITK UIN Jakarta. This collaboration is expected to strengthen UIN Jakarta’s international academic networks while promoting the integration of globally benchmarked scholarship and research.
