Profile
Dr. Mehnaz Gul is an experienced academic and researcher who currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Management Studies, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. She holds a strong academic background, with a PhD in Communication from Florida State University, United States, and an MPhil in Public Administration from the University of Bergen, Norway. In addition to her academic career in Pakistan, Dr. Gul is actively engaged internationally, including her role as Director of Graduate Programs at the Zakat Foundation Institute and her recent appointment as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Faculty of Da‘wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
With more than 20 years of academic experience, Dr. Gul’s research expertise spans several strategic fields, including public diplomacy, media policy, negotiation, and women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship. She is actively involved in teaching, postgraduate research supervision, and scholarly publication, with a particular focus on humanitarian communication and Islamic philanthropy. Her commitment to education is further reflected in her participation in numerous faculty capacity-building initiatives and teacher training programs at both national and international levels.
In 2025, Dr. Gul serves as a Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Da‘wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. In this role, she engages in academic and research collaboration with Dr. Bintan Humaira, a faculty member of FDIKOM UIN Jakarta. This collaboration is expected to strengthen UIN Jakarta’s international academic networks while advancing the integration of globally benchmarked scholarship and research.
