LPDP Scholarship Boosts Postgraduate Opportunities at UIN Jakarta’s 2024 Expose

Diorama Room, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta successfully hosted its 2024 Postgraduate Expose on Tuesday (17/9/2024), an event designed to introduce prospective students to the university’s Master’s and Doctoral programs while also showcasing scholarship opportunities through Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP). Held in the Diorama Room, campus I of UIN Jakarta. The expo provided detailed information about how students can finance their advanced education through various LPDP scholarships.

Lukmanul Hakim, SST. Ak, CA., Head of the Legal and Communication Division at LPDP, delivered an insightful presentation on the LPDP Scholarship Stage 2 for 2024. He covered everything from historical data on applicants to program details, selection processes, and the universities eligible for LPDP funding. According to Lukman, LPDP has seen a surge in applications, with 30,000 people applying for Phase 2 in 2024, competing for just 7,000 to 10,000 available spots.

Despite the fierce competition, Lukman offered strategies for success. LPDP provides scholarships across four main categories: Affirmation, Targeted, Priority, and General scholarships. He emphasized that applicants should aim for programs that align with their profiles, particularly Affirmation scholarships, which may offer a less competitive entry point.

UIN Jakarta has a long-standing collaboration with LPDP, which remains committed to offering scholarships for 10 Master’s and Doctoral programs at the university. These programs, all accredited at the highest level, come with no quota limits. Currently, UIN Jakarta boasts 145 LPDP scholarship recipients, with 73.1% pursuing Master's degrees and 26.9% enrolled in Doctoral programs.

In addition to domestic scholarships, LPDP also supports study abroad across four continents: Australia, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Some of the top global universities listed as LPDP destinations include The University of Melbourne, Peking University, the University of Oxford, and Harvard University, among others. Lukman assured the audience that receiving a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from any of these prestigious institutions almost guarantees an LPDP scholarship award, as long as academic requirements are met.

The 2024 UIN Jakarta Postgraduate Expo provided a crucial platform for students to explore educational opportunities and financial support through the LPDP, further solidifying the university’s reputation as a hub for academic excellence and international scholarship.
