FIKES UIN Jakarta's DENTA Ready for 2025 Homecoming Season: Provides Health Services for Travelers

Faculty of Health Sciences UIN Jakarta, UIN Online News – The Disaster & Emergency Nursing Team (DENTA) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta actively supported the smooth flow of 2025 Eid homecoming travelers ("mudik") by delivering first aid and basic health services. From Monday, March 24, 2025, until the end of the holiday period, the team operated at strategic posts along major travel routes, including Taman Cirebon Power, Tanjungpura Karawang, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Ciputat (South Tangerang), and the Serang-Cilegon Highway in Banten.

Equipped with medical supplies and first aid kits (P3K), the nursing students provided minor medical assistance and referred severe cases to nearby healthcare facilities. They also educated travelers on maintaining stamina, staying hydrated, and preventing common travel-related illnesses—ensuring a safer and healthier journey.

FIKES Dean Prof. Dr. apt. Zilhadia, M.Si., praised DENTA’s initiative: "This effort helps keep travelers healthy while allowing our students to apply their nursing skills in real-world settings." DENTA advisor Eni N. Agustini, Ph.D., emphasized the dual impact: "Students gain clinical experience while cultivating empathy and social responsibility."

Vice Dean for Student Affairs Dr. Uswatun Khasanah, MNS, added that such community service builds character. DENTA’s participation underscores UIN Jakarta’s commitment to emergency preparedness and public health during critical moments like Eid homecoming.
