UIN Jakarta’s PBAK 2024 Showcases Green Campus Vision and Vibrant Student Activities
Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – The second day of UIN Jakarta's PBAK 2024 unfolded with dynamic activities centered on the theme "Sustainable Campus, Sustainable Achievement" at Harun Nasution Auditorium on Wednesday (08/28/2024).
The day's events began with an inspiring video message from UIN Jakarta's Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., emphasizing the importance of sustainability in the campus environment to achieve ongoing academic and non-academic successes.
Following the Rector’s address, the event featured a captivating performance by the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Teater Syahid, setting the tone for a day of vibrant student engagement. New students were introduced to a wide array of UKMs, including the Student Regiment (Menwa), Volunteer Corps (KSR), Syahid Campus Da'wah Institute (LDK), and many more, showcasing the diverse opportunities for student involvement at UIN Jakarta.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., reiterated the university’s commitment to supporting students in their academic journey, with a special focus on fostering a 'green' or environmentally friendly campus. He underscored the significance of the day’s theme in promoting the health of the planet.
To further reinforce the Green Campus initiative, the event featured a seminar with notable speakers including Zenzi Suhaidi, National Executive Director of the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (WALHI), and Khalisah Khalid, PEA Manager of Greenpeace Indonesia. The seminar aimed to educate new students on the vital role they play in preserving the environment.
The day also included lighter moments, such as a stand-up comedy performance by Alma Silviani, and a thought-provoking session on critical thinking led by Dr. Neng Dara Afifah, M.Si., a lecturer from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.
With this rich blend of activities, PBAK UIN Jakarta 2024 is set to provide new students with valuable insights into campus life, student engagement opportunities, and the importance of environmental stewardship.
