UIN Jakarta Welcomes the Visit of Malaysian Minister of Education

Rectorate Building, UIN News Online - UIN Jakarta received an official visit from the Minister of Education of the Malaysian Embassy, Dr. Hasnul Faizal bin Hushin Amri in the Main Conference Room, Thursday (15/8/2024). This visit aims to explore opportunities for cooperation between the two parties in the fields of education and research.

During the meeting, both parties discussed various initiatives to enhance cooperation, including scholarship programs, internships, student exchanges, research collaborations, and the implementation of international seminars.

During the visit, Dr. Hasnul Faizal bin Hushin Amri was accompanied by Education Attaché, Zulfadhli bin Hamzah, Religious Attaché of the Malaysian Embassy Jakarta, Ustadz Shamsuri bin Ghazali, Promotion Executive, Riska Pramita, and Malaysian Student Representative, Alya.

The arrival of Dr. Hasnul Faizal bin Hushin Amri was welcomed directly by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D, along with other academic officials.

The event began with a warm welcome from the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D,. In his speech, Prof. Asep emphasized the importance of strengthening cross-country cooperation for the internationalization of UIN Jakarta.

“We are very pleased to be able to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia-Malaysia, especially UIN Jakarta with educational institutions in Malaysia,” said the Rector. He added, “It is hoped that through strengthening this cooperation it can produce results and provide benefits for all of us.”

Meanwhile, Minister of Education at the Malaysian Embassy, Dr. Hasnul Faizal bin Hushin Amri appreciated the welcome given by the rector and other academic staff. “We are very pleased to be welcomed by UIN Jakarta officials,” he said. 

In his speech, he briefly explained the main tasks and functions of the Malaysian Embassy, including the top twenty Malaysian universities that can be used as options for continuing studies. As well as several cooperation opportunities that can be built. 

“We offer cooperation opportunities in the form of student exchange and scholarships, exchange of lecturers and staff, as well as collaboration in technology and joint publishing,” said Dr. Hasnul.

Continuing the program mentioned by Dr. Hasnul, Promotion Executive, Riska Pramita explained that Malaysia is very concerned with the education sector. “There is no registration fee and tuition fee in Malaysia,” Riska explained.

Many campuses in Malaysia offer scholarships with various categories. Starting from financing half the living cost to full scholarships. 

Apart from scholarships, there are also edutourism programs. Edutourism combines education and travel, allowing people to learn new skills and gain knowledge while exploring new places. 

“It includes activities such as study tours, language programs, cultural exchanges, and workshops that aim to enhance personal growth and cultural understanding,” Riska concluded.
