UIN Jakarta Strengthens Academic Quality, Islamic Economics Department Aims for "Excellent" Accreditation

FEB Building, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta continues to demonstrate its commitment to academic excellence, as shown by the recent field assessment conducted for the re-accreditation of the Islamic Economics Department at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). The assessment took place from Thursday to Friday, March 21–22, 2025.

The field assessment was carried out by assessors from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (LAMEMBA). The visiting assessors were Prof. Dr. Agus Eko Sujianto, S.E., a professor from UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, and Dr. Maftukhatusolikhah, M.Ag., a lecturer from UIN Raden Fatah Palembang.

The opening ceremony of the assessment was attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA., Ph.D., accompanied by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, M.A., M.H.; Head of the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), Prof. Dr. Khamami, M.A.; Head of the Research and Community Service Institute (LP2M), Prof. Amelia Fauzia, M.A., Ph.D.; Head of the Center for International Cooperation (PLKI), Prof. Arif Zamhari, M.Ag., Ph.D.; and Head of the Main Library, Agus Rifai, Ph.D.

Also present were the Dean of FEB, Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, M.Si.; Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sofyan Rizal, M.M.; Vice Dean II for General Administration, Dr. Erika Amelia, M.Si.; Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Asyari Hasan, M.Ag.; Head of Administrative Affairs, Imam Thobroni, M.Si.; and the heads and secretaries of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.

Notably, several FEB professors were in attendance, including Prof. Dr. Euis Amalia, M.Ag.; Prof. Nur Hidayah, Ph.D.; Prof. Dr. Arief Mufraeni, M.A.; Prof. Dr. Ade Sofyan Mulazid, M.A.; Prof. Dr. Desmadi Saharudin, M.A.; and Prof. Dr. Nur Rianto Al Arif, M.Si.

In his remarks, the Rector of UIN Jakarta expressed his strong support for the accreditation process, emphasizing the importance of accreditation by LAMEMBA for the Islamic Economics Department. He also highlighted the department’s prominent role within the university.

“Islamic Economics is one of our flagship programs at UIN Jakarta. Moreover, several programs within FEB have already achieved international accreditation, such as from ACQUIN and AACSB. This accreditation is vital to support UIN Jakarta’s efforts in achieving international academic standards. Therefore, the Islamic Economics program must follow suit,” said the Rector.

Lead Assessor Prof. Dr. Agus Eko Sujianto stated that the visit was aimed at verifying the data and documents previously submitted by the Islamic Economics Department to LAMEMBA.

“We are here to verify the information that has already been submitted by Mr. Ali Rama as Head of the Islamic Economics Department. We kindly ask for your support and cooperation,” said Prof. Agus.

The field assessment proceeded smoothly, with the Islamic Economics Department demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving "Excellent" accreditation status—aligning with the aspirations of the Rector and the broader academic community of UIN Jakarta.
