UIN Jakarta Seals Strategic Collaboration with SEAMOLEC

Main Meeting Room, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta has entered a significant partnership with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Open Learning Centre (SEAMOLEC) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU signing ceremony, held in UIN Jakarta’s Main Meeting Room, marks a pivotal step toward advancing the quality of distance education and fostering more effective learning experiences.

SEAMOLEC, an institution operating under the Ministry of Education in Thailand, specializes in distance learning. During the event, SEAMOLEC Director Dr. Wahyudi highlighted the strategic nature of this collaboration. “The signing of this MoU is a crucial step forward. SEAMOLEC is committed to creating an engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environment, especially as we cater to the emerging Alpha generation of students,” he remarked.

Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., UIN Jakarta's Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development, underscored the importance of SEAMOLEC's support in executing the university’s planned programs. UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., also emphasized the partnership's role in the university’s internationalization efforts. “This collaboration is a vital step in launching our internationalization program. SEAMOLEC will be a key partner in strengthening and synergizing our initiatives,” Prof. Asep stated.

The Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan (FITK), Siti Nurul Azkiyah, M.Sc., Ph.D., outlined several key programs that will be the focus of this collaboration. These include online training for students, technology facilitation training for lecturers, and expanded access to education for madrasah students across various regions. “While FITK initiated this program, it is open to all faculties at UIN Jakarta,” added Dr. Azkiyah.

Following the MoU signing, both institutions exchanged plaques as symbols of their commitment to the partnership. It is anticipated that this collaboration will lead to significant improvements in the quality of distance learning in Indonesia, particularly at UIN Jakarta.
