"UIN Jakarta Medical Faculty Undergoes ASIIN International Accreditation Visit"

Diorama Room, UIN News Online - Faculty of Medicine at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta underwent an international accreditation visitation from ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik) for two days, September 25-26, 2024. For the first day on Wednesday (25/9), this activity took place in the Diorama Room of UIN Jakarta.

ASIIN Visitation is an important part of the international accreditation process that aims to improve the quality of education and bridge the gap between the ability of graduates and the needs of the global job market.

In his speech, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., emphasized the importance of international accreditation for universities. “This accreditation is a strategic step for UIN Jakarta in raising our educational standards to the international level,” he said.

Dean of UIN Jakarta's Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki M.Epid., Sp.OT. FICS, added, “This visitation helps us prepare ourselves for the future development discourse of UIN Jakarta. We look forward to receiving the results and feedback in the coming months.” He explained.

The ASIIN assessor team present consisted of, Prof. Dr. Ivo Volf from Medical University Vienna, Anika Biel, M.D., Physician for Urology, Dr., M.Kes., Sp.Par.K Hanna Mutiara from University of Lampung, Roy Novri Ramadhan, Airlangga University student, Dr. Emeline Jerez, ASIIN representative.

The visitation included evaluations for the Bachelor of Medicine and General Practitioner study programs. The process involved a question and answer session between the team of assessors and the faculty, aiming to assess various aspects of the medical education program at UIN Jakarta.

The results of this accreditation are expected to enhance the international reputation of UIN Jakarta, especially the Faculty of Medicine, as well as open wider opportunities for global cooperation in the field of medical education and research.
