UIN Jakarta Holds Second Day of Graduation Ceremony: Shaping Competitive Future Leaders for Indonesia 2045

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta marked the second day of its 134th Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, (17/11/2024), with a focus on cultivating a competitive generation that will contribute to the realization of Indonesia’s vision for 2045. The ceremony, which spans four days across two weekends (November 16-17 and 23-24), involves a total of 2,919 graduates across various academic levels.

The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada, MA, Chair of the UIN Jakarta Senate for the 2022-2026 period. In his speech, Prof. Rosyada underscored the relevance of the theme, “Fostering a Competitive Generation Towards an Advanced Indonesia,” aligning it with the university's role in supporting the national vision for Indonesia’s Golden Era in 2045.

Among the day’s highlights was the speech delivered by Nuzulia Azizah, a standout graduate from the Faculty of Sharia and Law, who represented all graduates. Reflecting on her academic journey, Azizah emphasized the vital role of parental and educator support. “Education is not only about achieving academic success, but it also carries the responsibility of upholding human values,” she shared. She further expressed that graduation marks not the end, but a new beginning: “It is a pause before continuing the journey ahead.”

The ceremony also featured the formal reading of the Rector's Decree on the graduates by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D. In his report, he revealed that 715 graduates participated in the second day of the ceremony, with the total number of graduates reaching 2,919.

In his address, Prof. Ali highlighted that graduation is just the start of a new chapter for the graduates. “This is not the end of your academic journey; it’s the beginning of your real contribution to society,” he remarked, expressing confidence in the ability of UIN Jakarta alumni to play a vital role in shaping the future of the nation. “I am sure that our graduates will be at the forefront of efforts to build a better Indonesia.”

Dr. Pradipta Suarsyaf, a distinguished UIN Jakarta alumnus, was also present to offer his congratulations. Reflecting on the university’s growth, he expressed pride in how UIN Jakarta has continued to uphold its commitment to academic excellence and Islamic values. “I am proud to see the university producing graduates who not only excel academically but also carry themselves with the values of Islam,” he said. He encouraged the graduates to honor their alma mater by serving society with integrity and purpose.

With the successful completion of the second day of the graduation ceremony, UIN Jakarta continues to fulfill its mission of empowering students to become leaders and contributors to Indonesia’s progress, ensuring a brighter future for the country.
