UIN Jakarta and Baznas Launch Strategic Collaboration to Empower Graduate Students through Philanthropy Scholarships
Main Meeting Room, UIN News Online — UIN Jakarta and the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) have entered into a strategic partnership to launch the Baznas Islamic Philanthropy Graduate Scholarship program. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday, (08/23/2024), at the Main Meeting Room, campus I of UIN Jakarta, marking the beginning of this significant collaboration.
The MoU signing event symbolized a shared commitment between UIN Jakarta and Baznas to provide substantial financial support to graduate students through scholarships, thus fostering academic growth and societal impact. The ceremony commenced with the screening of profile videos highlighting the missions and achievements of UIN Jakarta, its Graduate School, and Baznas.
Distinguished attendees included the Chairman of Baznas of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, M.A., the Head of the Distribution and Utilization Division of Baznas RI, Saidah Sakwan, M.A., Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., the Head of the Academic Administration, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Bureau, Priyono, M.Pd., and the Director of the Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli, M.A.
Rector Asep Saepudin Jahar warmly welcomed the partnership, expressing his belief that this collaboration would not only strengthen ties between UIN Jakarta and Baznas but also extend substantial benefits to the broader community by supporting students in need.
“We are honored to have the Baznas leadership with us today. This MoU represents a crucial step forward in our shared mission to empower students and enhance our mutual cooperation,” said Asep.
On the same occasion KH. Noor Achmad, Chairman of Baznas, underscored the importance of this partnership in promoting philanthropic values and ensuring that zakat is distributed equitably, benefiting both Muslim and non-Muslim communities alike.
“The aim of this MoU is to provide critical support to UIN Jakarta students who need it most, while also advancing the field of philanthropy,” he stated.
The ceremony concluded with the symbolic signing of the MoU, followed by the exchange of commemorative plaques between UIN Jakarta and Baznas, solidifying their commitment to this impactful collaboration.
