Strengthens Partnership with LPDP, UIN Jakarta Expands Scholarship Programs

Main Conference Room, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta and the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) held a strategic meeting on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in the main meeting room, Rectorate Building of UIN Jakarta. The meeting focused on renewing and expanding collaborative efforts in education and LPDP's scholarship offerings.

The session was opened by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., who praised the ongoing partnership and expressed his hopes for further development. He highlighted that the collaboration, which began in 2021, has been highly effective and should continue to evolve to provide even more benefits to students and the institution. “Our collaboration since 2021 has yielded positive results,” stated Asep.

Following the Rector’s remarks, an LPDP representative provided an overview of the scholarships available to UIN Jakarta students. The LPDP offers scholarships through three main schemes; affirmative, targeted, and general/priority scholarships. In the previous year, LPDP awarded scholarships to 9,000 students, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 49,000 since 2013.

The meeting also discussed a collaborative scholarship program between LPDP, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag). This partnership involves program design by Kemendikbudristek and Kemenag, while LPDP provides the financial support for the scholarships.

In the closing segment, the LPDP representative reaffirmed their commitment to offering scholarships for 10 master's and doctoral programs at UIN Jakarta that have achieved an “A” accreditation status. Importantly, there is no cap on the number of recipients. As of now, UIN Jakarta boasts 145 LPDP scholarship awardees, with 73.1% enrolled in master’s programs and 26.9% pursuing doctoral studies.
