Inaugurating Six Professors, Rector Urges Strengthening UIN Jakarta’s Academic Contributions

Auditorium Harun Nasution, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta once again conferred the title of Professor upon scholars from various academic disciplines, marking another milestone in its strong tradition of academic excellence and scholarly contributions. The inauguration, held during an Open Senate Session at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Wednesday (May 7, 2025), highlighted the university's commitment to strengthening its academic community.

In his inauguration speech, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized that the title of Professor is not the end of an academic journey, but rather the beginning of a renewed dedication to advancing science and serving society. “Becoming a professor is the pinnacle of academic life, but it is not the final destination. It is a gateway to make even broader contributions in the development of knowledge and service to humanity,” he stated.

He also reminded the audience of the importance of sincerity and impact in scholarly endeavors, quoting the Islamic teaching Khoirunnas anfa’uhum linnas — the best of people are those who bring the most benefit to others. “Scientific endeavors must be driven by the intention to serve and bring benefit. UIN Jakarta remains committed to encouraging its academic community to produce work that is both solution-oriented and relevant to the needs of the Muslim community and the nation,” he added.

The six professors who were inaugurated include Prof. Dr. Flori Ratna Sari, Ph.D. as Professor of Pharmacology Science from the Medicine Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Irma Nurbaeti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat., Ph.D. as Professor of Maternity Nursing Science from the Ners Professional Program of the Faculty of Health Sciences; and Prof. Dr. Sum'ainna, M.Si. as Professor of Applied Mathematics Science from the Mathematics Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
