Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UIN Jakarta Forms Strategic Partnership with University of Queensland's HASS Faculty
Jakarta, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta welcomed an official visit from the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, Prof. Heather Zwicker, on Wednesday (March 9, 2025). She was accompanied by HASS Senior Manager of International Services, Majella Ferguson, and Senior Principal Advisor for Southeast Asia at UQ Global Strategy and Partnerships, Nadia Sarah.
The HASS UQ delegation was received by the Dean of FISIP UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Dzuriyatun Toyibah, M.Si., M.A., along with the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Iding Rosyidin, M.Si., Vice Dean for General Administration, Dr. Cucu Nurhayati, M.Si., Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Agus Nilmada Azmi, M.Si., and heads of study programs.
This meeting followed up on the collaboration initiative between FISIP UIN Jakarta and the Faculty of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the University of Queensland. Both institutions agreed to explore strategic collaboration opportunities in education, research, and community engagement.
In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, the University of Queensland ranked 40th globally and is part of the Group of Eight (Go8)—a coalition of Australia's leading universities, which also includes the University of Melbourne, Australian National University, University of Sydney, University of Western Australia, University of Adelaide, Monash University, and UNSW Sydney.
This partnership aligns with the spirit of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma) and FISIP UIN Jakarta’s vision for internationalization. The commitment to networking with world-class universities, particularly those ranked within the top 100 of the QS World University Rankings, is a strategic step in enhancing UIN Jakarta’s academic quality and global competitiveness.
"This visit is crucial in finalizing the framework of our planned collaboration, which includes student and faculty exchanges, joint research programs, and other internationally scaled academic activities," said FISIP Dean Prof. Dr. Dzuriyatun Toyibah.
With a collaborative spirit and global vision, FISIP UIN Jakarta hopes this partnership with HASS University of Queensland will open numerous opportunities for both academic communities in advancing contextual and globally relevant social and political sciences.
