Dema FSH UIN Jakarta Holds Seminar on Student Economic Independence

Madya Hall, UIN News Online – The Student Executive Council (Dema) of the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) of UIN Jakarta in collaboration with the Student Executive Council of the Faculty of Sharia throughout Indonesia (Demfasna), and the Association of Comparative Schools and Laws throughout Indonesia (PPMHSI) held a seminar entitled “Bisnis Network Penguat Jaringan Pemuda di Era Global dan Dunia Internasional” and the launch of a book by Ilyas Indra titled “Bisnis Multilevel Marketing Penggerak Enterpreneur Muda” at the Madya Hall, Campus 1 of UIN Jakarta, Wednesday (10/19/2022).

The event was opened by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of FSH UIN Jakarta, Syahrul Adam, and attended by approximately 100 participants. In his speech, Syahrul Adam said that one of the opportunities that can push students out of their comfort zone is through business. Therefore, he hopes that through seminars students can target entrepreneurs in addition to seeking international networks.

“From this event, it is hoped that students can be more independent after they graduate,” he said.

Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (DPP KNPI) Ilyas Indra assessed that activists have a very good chance to become businessmen. One of them in the field of multilevel marketing. Through business, young students are not only served as agents but also as investors of change.

“If you want to be successful, today's youth and students must become economically independent by becoming entrepreneurs. With independence, you can have value. Business is a fast way to mobilize investors of change,” he said.

Furthermore, Ilyas explained, Indonesia is facing the “z” generation and the millennial generation. However, that generation was quite pitiful due to the low mentality. Therefore, it is important for the two generations to live independently economically in order to be able to solve the problems of the nation and state.

The initiator of the Indonesian Youth Investor of Change movement also considered that activist must have public speaking skills, lobbying skills, good networking, and have good leadership. So, it is very unfortunate if the activists do not take the entrepreneurial path.

The same thing was expressed by the General Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Direct Selling Companies (AP2LI) Andrew Susanto. According to Andrew, students must have the same perspective to build the nation by reviving the economy.

“In the entrepreneurial principle, one of them has the nature of share and empower people around. And how do we plant skills and characters that continue to contribute to creativity and innovation,” said Andrew. (fa/usa)
