Celebrating the 79th Indonesian Independence Day, UIN Jakarta Builds National Commitment

Kopma Triangle, UIN News Online - UIN Jakarta celebrates the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) at the Student Center Hall, Saturday (17/8/2024). 

“The 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence is a momentum to advance the direction of development while building national commitment,” said Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D..

Prof. Asep emphasized that this ceremony is a symbol of respect for the founding fathers and the spirit of maintaining Indonesian harmony. He added that Indonesia was actually born from great ideas and ideas to carry out services to the community.

“Proof of gratitude for independence is to ensure that every policy and program must touch all levels of society, strengthening the foundation of diversity in the frame of national life,” he said.

The ceremony was led by the Rector and Ceremony Inspector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Ceremony Commander, Muhammad Adam, Seconds of Proclamation, Marching Band, Recitation of Proclamation Text of Kabiro AUK (Head of the General Administration and Finance Bureau), Imam Syafei, Raising the Red and White Flag, Paskibraka (National Flag Hoisting Troop), Recitation of Pancasila Text of Kabiro AAK (Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau), Priyono, Recitation of Preamble Text of 1945 Constitution, Kabiro PK Muhammad Ali Irfan, and Recitation of Prayers of Head of Mahad UIN Jakarta, Suryadinata.

Although it took place on a Saturday holiday, the ceremony was still lively because it was attended by campus staff. Starting from deans, heads of study programs, and educators. As a form of national commitment, the staff wore traditional clothing from various provinces in Indonesia.

In addition, the ceremony also included the reading of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia on the Satya Lencana Karya Satya Award. A total of 50 educators received the award and symbolic pinning by the Ceremony Inspector accompanied by the Vice Rectors.

“With gratitude and pride, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia via the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and his staff for the award of the XX Year Satya Lencana Karya Satya Award given to me. This award is not only a personal award, but also a recognition of the hard work and dedication of the entire team and colleagues who have collaborated,” said Professor of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Nur Inayah, M.Si., as one of the recipients of the Satya Lencana Karya Satya award.

She also added that she will be committed to continue to give her best and contribute positively in every task and responsibility. “Hopefully with this award, we are all more motivated to continue to excel and serve the nation and state towards a golden Indonesia,” she said.

In line with Prof. Inayah, Bureau of Planning and Finance Romdani, one of the other awardees, also expressed his gratitude. “Hopefully this award will be a motivation in improving my performance in the future to advance UIN Jakarta and motivate other colleagues,” said Romdani.

Not only that, there is also the performance of UIN Jakarta Paskibra. Commander of Jayakarta Student Regiment Unit of Wiradharma UIN Jakarta as well as the leader of Paskibra performance, Zulfikar Ali Musa said the meaning of independence for a regiment and Paskibra. According to him, independence is an effort to free oneself from various things that are counterproductive.  “Independence is freedom from the colonization of the mind and ignorance,” he said.

Meanwhile, Najma Fauzah, one of the Paskibraka representatives, shared her feelings of happiness after successfully raising the red and white flag. “I am very happy and appreciate myself and the team for successfully raising the flag with full struggle,” she added.

In addition, UIN Jakarta Student Choir (PSM) also participated in the success of the event by singing Bagimu Negeri, Hari Merdeka and Maju Tak Gentar. The choir has its own way of interpreting Independence Day. “We not only sing but also live from each song that we bring. So that the meaning and spirit of the song can be conveyed,” said Rezka Ahmad Muhajir, one of the Choir members.

The 79th Independence Day commemoration event was closed with the announcement of the election of UIN Jakarta Ambassador 2024. A total of six people were elected as ambassadors. The names are Dzikry Ardhan Afdhaluddin, Muhammad Insanullah Ilham, Moh. Syarif Saifa Abiedilla, Azzahra Nurul Hasanah, Lintang Ayu Taufiqoh, and Maulida Fitria. They are all students of UIN Jakarta from various faculties. 

The 2024 UIN Jakarta Ambassador, Azzahra Nurul Hasanah from the Social Sciences department expressed her desire as an ambassador. “I hope to create a program that can hone students' abilities and inspire other friends,” said Zahra. 

In addition, there were also announcements of winners in each competition. The 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration this time had various types of competitions. The competition was attended by staff and educators. The types of competitions include badminton, table tennis, balloon relay, traditional clothes competition, traditional food competition, cracker eating competition, sarong relay competition, moving rubber between teams using straws and moving straws into bottles.
