Boosting Kemenag HR: Hundreds of CPNS and PPPK Attend Online Basic Training Opening at UIN Jakarta

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News – Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) and Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) from across Indonesia attended the National Basic Training (Latsar) Opening Ceremony organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag RI) on Monday (July 14, 2025). The event was conducted in a hybrid format, centered at the HM. Rasjidi Auditorium of Kemenag RI and followed online by Kemenag work units nationwide, including UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

A total of 91 CPNS and 178 PPPK participated in the basic training opening from the Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Jakarta. Head of the General Administration and Personnel Bureau of UIN Jakarta, Dr. H. Nanang Fatchurohman, S.H., S.Pd., M.Pd., was present and provided direct guidance to the participants. He emphasized the importance of dedication and loyalty in carrying out duties as government employees.

“We are now government employees. Therefore, we must show dedication, loyalty, and provide the best service to the community,” he advised.

Dr. Nanang also expressed his pride in UIN Jakarta as a campus that has produced many national and international figures. “As public servants, we must be disciplined, friendly, and capable of genuinely protecting the community,” he concluded.

Before the official opening by the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Latsar activity commenced with a report on its organization delivered by the Head of the Religious Moderation and Human Resources Development Agency (PSDM) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. M. Ali Ramdhani, S.TP., M.T. In his report, Prof. Ali emphasized that this report delivery is a manifestation of the institution's commitment to transparency and accountability.

“This activity is carried out online and offline by Kemenag work units from all over Indonesia. A total of 17,221 CPNS are participating in the training, consisting of 260 participants offline and 16,961 online. Meanwhile, 71,455 PPPK participants are also attending the training online. The total number of participants reaches 88,676 people,” he explained.

He added that this training covers three main aspects: attitudes and behavior of national defense, core values of ASN (Civil Servants), and the position and role of ASN in supporting smart government. This activity is designed as part of ASN development to equip them with knowledge, skills, and attitudes in accordance with the demands of modern public service.

Meanwhile, the Head of the State Civil Service Agency (BKN), Prof. Dr. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, S.H., M.H., in his speech, appreciated Kemenag's initiative in equipping CPNS and PPPK through comprehensive training, and stressed the importance of accountability values in bureaucracy.

“Show what we do. Accountability is very important. One of the values in BerAKHLAK is the spirit to prioritize accountability,” he stated.

He also expressed his hope that the Ministry of Religious Affairs continues to uphold the values that form the foundation of national life. “I hope the Ministry of Religious Affairs will always be able to maintain the dignity and harmony of the Indonesian nation,” he concluded.

Subsequently, the address and official opening were delivered by the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A. In his address, the Minister emphasized the importance of character and integrity in every ASN, especially those within the Kemenag environment. “ASN must be BerAKHLAK and istiqomah,” he asserted.

He explained that the BerAKHLAK values include Akuntabel (Accountable), Kompeten (Competent), Harmonis (Harmonious), Loyal (Loyal), Adaptif (Adaptive), and Kolaboratif (Collaborative). Meanwhile, the ISTIQOMAH principles encompass Ikhlas (Sincere), Sabar (Patient), Tawadhu (Humble), Istiqomah (Consistent), Qanaah (Contentment), Amanah (Trustworthy), Modern, Adab (Etiquette), and al-Hilm (Clemency/Forbearance).

Prof. Nasaruddin added that being an ASN within the Ministry of Religious Affairs carries immense service value. “Being an ASN in the Ministry of Religious Affairs is very noble because it is not only bound by law but also by Kemenag's position as the guardian of the nation's morals,” he revealed.

The opening of the basic training was marked by the symbolic pinning of participant identification badges by the Minister of Religious Affairs to representatives of CPNS and PPPK, accompanied by the Head of the State Civil Service Agency and the Head of the Religious Moderation and PSDM of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

This basic training is a mandatory program for CPNS and PPPK who have passed the selection process. It aims to form professional, integral, and ethical ASNs who are ready to provide the best service to the community.
